BEETLES AT WORK IN THEIR CONTROLED CLIMATE ENCLOSURE
We use dermestid beetles to clean our skulls. This method guarantees the cleanest and best results in comparison with other methods such as boiling which may result in cracking, shrinking and can give the skull a yellowish and oily paper look.
After the beetles have done their work the skulls are degreased using a biodegradable degreaser to ensure a long lasting white finish. As much plaque as possible is also removed from the teeth. The final step is the whitening of the skull, with an industrial strength H2O2 which is also biodegradable.
